Case Filed Against Rishi Kapoor For Cutting Branches Of Tree Beyond Limit!
Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who is very active on social media nowadays, is in a legal trouble. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has filed an FIR against him and the contractor for trimming a tree and cutting of its branches more than the permission was given.
Khar police has registered a case under Maharashtra Protection and Preservation of Tree Act, while the actor has this to say on the matter, “I had taken all required permission to do so, which I have provided them to see. This is plain harassment from jealous neighbours which was expected.”
While the police said that they will decide their action after recording the statements of the concerned persons, the BMC officials have clearly said that the cutting of tree was illegal and the explanation given by the actor is also not satisfactory which prompted them to file an FIR.
Before filing the FIR, BMC issued a show-cause notice to the actor as the permission was taken to trim the tree but it was cut beyond the permissible limit. As per the activists, these types of incidents are taking place at a number of locations but BMC ignores them.
Rishi Kapoor lives in Bandra and he has a bungalow at Pali Hill which he has demolished as he wants to make a building over there. He took all the necessary permissions and hired a contractor, he also said that he doesn’t have knowledge of tree being cut as he has kept a contractor for the purpose. He agreed that he took permission for the trimming of tree as it was coming in the way of machines used for construction purposes.
D Stalin, the activist, said, “It’s encouraging, at least some action has been taken. Such things are happening everywhere in the city but BMC doesn’t pay attention. Near the Collector’s office, a tree was chopped similarly. I raised the issue but no action was taken. Government agencies promptly act in cases involving celebrities Rishi Kapoor or Kapil Sharma to get public attention and show they are working. Otherwise, they don’t bother about violations.”
Well, let’s see what happens further in the matter.
