Padmaavat First Day Collections Out: Despite Huge Protests The Figures Are Awesome
At last, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie “Padmaavat” earlier known as Padmavati, got released on January 25, despite heavy protests from the Rajput Karni Sena.
The movie stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles and it was scheduled to release on December 1 but somehow got delayed due to issues with CBFC. Many protests were held against the movie as the Rajput groups were alleging that there is a romantic dream sequence between Rani Padmavati and Allauddin Khilji.
However the makers were denying such claims from the very beginning but there attempts failed to make them understand. A couple of days back a group of 40 men who were representatives of Karni Sena watched the movie and said that there is nothing objectionable in the movie but the protests didn’t stopped.
The movie was not screened in the four states of India due to law and order situation but still the collections of the first day are quite strong.
Ramesh Bala, the industry analyst has tweeted that despite the fact that 35% of the screens of the country didn’t showed Padmaavat, the movie has still collected Rs. 18 crore net on its opening day.
